The Life of Rishika Dee

The life of Rishika Dee presents an essential paradox, and we know how much I relish those. How can a woman make a spectacle of herself and be so talkative, to the point of annoyance, really, and yet remain so mysterious? I clearly recall that she was always honest and forthright and I always believed in what she was saying. Everything she said rang True--she spoke the Truth.

Like Kurt Vonnegut's prose--some lines seem so innocent, hardly worth a second thought....

I quote the Rishika: "well, where there is smoke--something or someone is smoking, that is real. When you look into a mirror, what do you see? What you see does not change the nature of the mirror--that is real. Do not roll your eyes at me, I indeed speak of smoke and mirrors."

Are we kidding ourselves here? I see more clearly every passing day that our beloved Rishika was never wiser than when she burned Not a Manifesto Motherfucker!--the words contained were vibrated as speech and set free. When she presented us with a paradox it seemed she forced our minds to expand to make sense of the truth contained within seemingly contradicting elements--through the force of her will. When I read my notes now, I still feel her presence, I am renewed.

--"Forget the impossible rather think mmm...possible"

I was there, you were there, we were there--can we capture that spirit with the printed word? Beloved Rishika would likely say "no" right to our faces, but in her next breath she might extol the virtues of Shakespeare or Hesse. She certainly sang songs and as you certainly recall, not just the choruses.
